About This Workshop

Mudras can beneficially alter our mood, attitude or perception and catalyse a deepening of awareness.

The Sanskrit translation of mudra is 'gesture' or 'attitude'. Also known as energetic shortcuts or circuit by-passes, they create a bridge between the physical body, the mental body, and the energy body, harmonising or balancing our sense of self. Furthermore, through the redirection of awareness and prana/ energy, they lead us to pratyahara (sense withdrawal) and deeper states of concentration, even meditation.

In this workshop we will use the practices of asana, pranayama and meditation to explore selected hasta (hand) mudras, mana (head) mudras, and kaya (postural) mudras.
